The story of Scourmont
The Abbey of Scourmont near Chimay began brewing in 1862 and became the first Trappist brewery to bottle and distribute its beers commercially, helping bring Trappist ale to the wider world.
Chimay helped formalize the Authentic Trappist Product label that protects the term today.
