The story of Sint-Sixtusabdij Westvleteren

The Saint Sixtus abbey near Vleteren has brewed since 1838. The monks brew only enough to sustain the monastery, refusing to expand, which is why Westvleteren remains among the rarest beers in the world.

Westvleteren bottles carry no label. The only information is printed on the crown cap.

Trappist Ale · 5.8% ABV

Subtle, clean, often overlooked. A fine hazy blond ale with fruity notes and a bitter finish. The daily beer of the monks.
