Former Trappist

Brewed inside the abbey walls as an Authentic Trappist Product until its last monks departed. The beers continue; the certification does not.

Heritage

The story of De Achelse Kluis

The Achelse Kluis on the Dutch border brewed as a Trappist house from 1852. After losing its last resident monks, it stepped back from Trappist status, but its abbey ales remain a beloved part of the tradition.
