The story of Caracole

Brasserie Caracole brews at Falmignoul near Dinant in one of the last Belgian breweries still firing its copper kettles directly over a wood flame. Its name and snail mascot come from the old Caracole carnival of Namur.

Direct wood-fired brewing, once universal, survives at almost no other brewery in Belgium.
