Story & Heritage

ABOUT THIS BEER

Leffe traces its name to the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Leffe, founded in 1152; the modern beer is an abbey-branded ale now brewed at scale. It became one of the world's most recognisable Belgian abbey beers.

On the Abbey Ale style, Brewed in the style of Trappist ales (Dubbel, Tripel, Blonde) but by commercial breweries or non-Trappist monasteries.

THE MONK'S NOTE

Pour it into a chalice, served around 10-14°C, and let its aromatics open before the first sip. Lovely now, though a year or two will only soften and deepen it.
