Gouden Carolus Cuvée Van De Keizer Imperial Blond

Brouwerij Het AnkerAntwerp (Mechelen) Belgium

The golden counterpart to the Imperial Dark, launched in 2008 to mark ten years of that beer. Like its sibling it is brewed on the birthday of Emperor Charles V: a rich, strong blond ale with honey and citrus, a floral spice, and a warming, deceptively smooth finish.

Story & Heritage

ABOUT THIS BEER

The golden sibling to Het Anker's Imperial Dark, introduced in 2008 to celebrate ten years of that beer. Also brewed on Charles V's birthday and vintage-dated, it carries the same imperial strength in a strong blond form.

On the Belgian Strong Golden Ale style, Deceptively drinkable strong ale. Pale color, high carbonation, and fruity/spicy yeast notes. Similar to Tripel but often lighter in body and drier.

Aim for the inside of the glass wall

03

THE MONK'S NOTE

Pour it into a tulip, served around 8-12°C, and let its aromatics open before the first sip. Lovely now, though a year or two will only soften and deepen it.
