Story & Heritage

ABOUT THIS BEER

One of the two year-round beers from De Dolle Brouwers at Esen, Arabier is a pure-malt golden ale dry-hopped with whole-flower Nugget hops grown nearby in Poperinge, the heart of Belgian hop country. De Dolle leaned into hop aroma decades before it became fashionable, and the beer is meant to be drunk fresh, while that aroma is at its peak.

On the Belgian Strong Golden Ale style, Deceptively drinkable strong ale. Pale color, high carbonation, and fruity/spicy yeast notes. Similar to Tripel but often lighter in body and drier.

THE MONK'S NOTE

Pour it into a tulip, served around 8-12°C, and let its aromatics open before the first sip. Lovely now, though a year or two will only soften and deepen it.
