Van Honsebrouck • West Flanders Belgium
The golden member of Van Honsebrouck's Kasteel range, named for the castle of Ingelmunster. Beautifully balanced between hop bitterness and malt, with citrus-like fruit from the yeast and a mild, clean finish.
Bright, golden and deceptively strong, with notes of honey, citrus, malt, finishing rich and sweet.
Serve at 8-12°C in a tulip to maintain a generous head and let the aromas bloom.

Can age. Will soften and gain a honeyed depth, though it is lovely fresh too.
"Lovely with grilled chicken, a soft washed-rind cheese, or a fresh summer salad."
Cook this: a wedge of aged abbey cheese (Chimay, Orval), vol-au-vent (chicken in puff pastry), or a crisp witloof (endive) salad, or white asparagus in spring.

The golden expression of the Kasteel range from Van Honsebrouck, the West Flanders brewery whose beers are named for the castle of Ingelmunster. Lighter and more approachable than the famous Kasteel Donker and Tripel, the Blond is built on a careful balance of hop bitterness and malt, with a citrus-like fruitiness from the yeast and a clean, mild finish.
On the Belgian Strong Pale Ale style, Strong, pale, and often more hop-forward relative to other Belgian styles. Fruity, spicy, and potent with a warming finish.

Pour it into a tulip, served around 8-12°C, and let its aromatics open before the first sip. Lovely now, though a year or two will only soften and deepen it.
